We are having a "Local Race" for the stock division only.
The winner is automatically invited to Akron, Ohio for the week-long World Championships.

When: June 11, 2011.
It will be a day long event with vendors and entertainment for smaller children. We plan on the 2011 race being a huge success.

Where: Our race will be held on Waukegan Rd in McHenry and will run west to east crossing Green Street and finishing in front of the McHenry East Campus High School parking lot.

How: After registering for the Derby program, if you don't own a car the next step is to purchase a car-kit. You should design and build your racer well ahead of your local race day so you have time to practice driving. Plan to attend the construction clinics where Derby officials will demonstrate the skills and techniques in building a car.

After making your decision on the options available regarding your age and the racing products suited to your building skills, you might want to look for potential sponsors to help underwrite the costs on your racer.
